Employment Law Checklist
It’s time to review your HR policies. We know it’s not a fun job, making sure your policies are up to date, and that you’re compliant with employment law is a really important task to undertake.
That’s because employment law isn’t only there to protect your employees from being treated unfairly. It’s also there to safeguard the best interests of your business too.
And while employment law really does help to create a much smoother, fairer, more genuine employer/employee relationship, my goodness, it can be a real pain to keep on top of.
That’s because things are always changing, updating and evolving. It’s not a bad thing. It’s great that our laws move with the times and that we’re all working hard to create a more balanced life for our people. But that does create a lot of paperwork!
It’s not always straightforward either. As a business owner or manager, you’d be forgiven for feeling completely overwhelmed at the thought of updating your documents – let alone creating them in the first place.
The thing is, it’s really, really important that you make the time for it. Because failing to create the right policies, or not updating them regularly, can put you at risk of landing in an employment tribunal if something should go awry. And none of us have the time, energy, or money for that!
Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be a total nightmare. It’s something that can be tackled pretty easily if you know where to start.
To help you along the way, check out our new guide. It lays out the most important HR policies, procedures and protocols you need to implement and update in your business, today.

Exit interviews capture robust insights
Business leaders should be tapping into exit interviews to gain insights, but only if they are well construed and conducted. This is true when a valued, high-performing employee gives their notice. Business leaders should seize the chance to get their perspective and ensure the employee leaves on good terms. It will also lay the groundwork for them to stay or return at a later date.

New Stay Factors survey launched
With the ongoing noise still surrounding the Great Resignation, people are leaving their jobs at the highest rate since 2009. So should the focus now be about asking why people stay?
Recent research has identified key ‘stay factors’ that make an employee stay in their role.
What do we mean by ‘stay factors’? Well, they are the very things that people value most about their employer, which are both identifiable and quantifiable.
Over 90% of employees stay with their current employer because they have exciting and challenging work, coupled with career growth and learning.
That means assessing employees’ reasons to stay with you can be a valuable part of your company’s retention strategy too!
Improving your company’s stay factors does more than bolster employee retention, it also creates a working environment and conditions that people truly value.
Contact us to gain free access to a Stay Factors survey which will enable you to:
➡️ Assess the strength of your company’s stay factors
➡️ Identify aspects of the employee experience that motivate people to stay or may be causing people to leave
You’ll get insights that you can use to quickly to improve retention as well as the employee experience.
