Why we’re committed to championing responsible business!
Have you heard about the Good Business Charter?
It’s a simple accreditation which organisations in the UK can sign up to, in recognition of responsible business practices and behaviours.
This week is Good Business Week, so there’s no better time to join the Haus of HR as a GBC accredited business.
We feel that it’s important to be accountable in the way we do business, and by gaining accreditation we’re demonstrating our commitment to our staff, suppliers, customers and the environment.
The GBC measures behaviour over 10 components and here’s our commitment to you….
- Real living wage
We commit to paying our directly employed and regularly contracted staff the real living wage as defined by the Living Wage Foundation. - Fair hours and contracts
We commit to only use zero or minimal-hours contracts when it is mutually beneficial and accepted by both us and the employee. - Employee wellbeing
We will actively support and encourage employee wellbeing by treating those with legitimate sickness fairly and respectfully and promoting access to impartial support and advice for employees with physical and mental health needs. - Employee representation
We commit to having a way where every employee can make suggestions or raise issues with senior management. - Equality, diversity, and inclusion
We commit to having robust measures in place to encourage diversity at key stages of recruitment, selection and retention of employees and to prevent harassment or victimization in the workplace. - Environmental responsibility
We care about the environment and encourage the development of good environmental practices as an organisation, seeking to minimize our impact and commit to improving it. - Paying fair tax
We commit to pay our taxes where applicable, only use tax allowances for the purpose intended, and be transparent in our relationship with HMRC. - Commitment to customers
We have a clear commitment to our stakeholders and prioritize addressing and learning from stakeholder feedback, seeking to put negative issues right. - Ethical sourcing
We commit to ethical sourcing of anything we purchase, such as by applying standards set out in the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code where relevant. - Prompt payment to suppliers
We commit to paying our suppliers promptly and within at least 30 days.
